Camping in valleys east of Tonopah
In May 2017 we drove through Death Valley on the way to spend the night at a motel in Tonopah. We stopped along the way to collect some rocks on the Lida road and then stopped at Gold Field. On the second day we drove east on US 6 about 45 miles and explored Stone Cabin Valley. We camped at an abandoned mine for two nights. Very dark sky with the milky way very bright in the early morning hours. The next day we explored the valley to the east, Reveille Valley.
The map below shows the area east of Tonopah, NV. The blue lines are the roads we explored and the X's are the mines.
