GoldField is located on US95 3 hours north of Las Vegas.  Gold was discovered in 1901 and at its peak, the population was 20,000.  There are lots of mines around the town.  The main street is full of old houses, stores and old buildings.  There is a hundred stamp mill on the northern edge of town.  30 miles to the north is Tonopah where we stayed the night.
