Second day, April 28      Return to Misadventureres main page

The second day started with a crop dusting plane droning and spraying across the river 2 miles away.   Ten of us got into cars to go to Swansea, a ghost mining town.  We stopped on the way to look at the plants and flowers, then proceeded to Swansea.  It was first mined for silver/lead  then for copper.  First mined in   1862to 1912, then 1914 to 1929 and closed for good in 1937.  More information is at  http://personal.riverusers.com/~fw/AGT/swansea.htm  .  We then returned to the Big River Inn for an afternoon of relaxation, massages, and the arrival of the last of the misadventurers.  A rousing fire was built on the pebble parking lot to end the second day.    More pictures of the second day are here.
