Saline Valley   November 2018

We took a trip to Saline Valley, Northeast of Owens Lake in Northwestern Death valley.  The route in is shown in the map below.  Some paved road, but 25 miles of rough dirt road. A Toyota 4 runner had no problem with the road.  Our camp was at the edge of the dry lake.

After setting up camp  next to an overturned truck.  We went for a hike up a creek nearby and passed an arista on an abandoned road.

We were at the end of the valley where the elevation was the lowest and during the night all the cold air flowed to us.   The temperature dropped to 16 F at night.

Mine to south

The next morning, we drove up the west side of the valley, passing two burros and a great view of the west side of the valley.

As we approached the hot springs there was a funky sign.

There were 3 hot springs surrounded by palms.
