Desert flowers as of Feb 3 2023.
The south entrance to Joshua Tree DOES have flowers. They are just sparse and scrawny.
Box Canyon between there and Mecca has lupine, but not a lot and it is still small.
The sand dune south east of Clark Lake has a SMALL patch of verbena and morning primrose.
Rock house canyon did not have flowers.
Henderson Road is nice on February 3 2023 and Coyote Canyon had small plants and the soil 1” down was moist, but right now it doesn’t have much.
To my east coast family: In about a week you may start hearing about the poppy bloom in the hills southeast of LA...You can start to see them already!
