As we started south in the Yukon, we left the gravel Dempster highway behind and started down home.  We stopped the first night at Moose lodge, which was a rustic cabin.  No water, electricity, and a washroom 100 feet away.  The light was provided by propane lamps.  That night we saw the northern lights in this very dark location.  The next day we drove up a side road on the Silver trail to see two old mining towns, Mayo and Keno.  Carmacks, on the Yukon river was the next stop with a cabin at the junction of the Alaskan highway and the Cassiar highway.  We stopped more often on the way back to see the sights.
