Just west of Watson Lake on the Alaskan highway we turned south on highway 37, the Cassiar highway. It would save 100 miles from the route we came up, but the road is 15% gravel and lots of curves. It was on this section that a fast passing car threw up a stone that cracked the windshield on the drivers side. The scenery is great and we stopped at the Show Mountain lodge, where we stayed in a nice cabin. Then on to Stewart, which is 25 miles down a paved road, where spent the night. We visited the bear viewing platform ( no bears) and the Salmon glacier.
