Bisbee---Open pit mine, funky downtown, and mine tour

We drove form Arivaca to Bisbee via a dirt road right next to the border.  Lots of open space but few border patrol vehicle although at one point we were within 100 feet of the border.  Bisbee is a tourist trap with a lot of antique shops and artist shops.  The Lavender pit mine closed in 1974 is a big hole in the ground right next to the road.   We went on a mine tour of a hard rock copper mine which closed in 1943.  We learned how the miner worked and how the blasting was done.
