Arivaca---   Birds and Hiking

We drove east across the Indian reservation and ate at a small restaurant at Sells.  Not much to see or do on the drive to Arivaca.  It is small town that exists mainly for day trippers from Tucson for birding and hiking.  A garrison was stationed here during the Pancho Villa excursions into the US in 1916.  We stated at a B&B, which was a house that is being sold.  Very quiet, but again limited eating in town.  The Buenos Aires Nature Preserve is next to town and we saw some small birds there.  It is a popular place and when we drove by in middle of the morning there were 9 cars there.  Abandoned mines are also a draw and we went for a hike in Syracuse Canyon 16 miles out of town.   Very few tourists in this area.  Nice small town.
