Tentative (subject to revisions) schedule for our SoPas Class of ’57 Reunion as of January 13 2007

Friday evening, Sept. 14, 2007:   6:00PM until 8:00PM - Check in and pick up name tags, schedules, etc. at the Class of ’57 Booth or Hospitality Suite at the Pasadena Courtyard Marriott (corner of Walnut and Fair Oaks in the renovated “Old Town Pasadena” – close to museums, galleries, excellent shopping, and plenty of food choices.  A limited number of discounted rooms are available for our classmates by calling Marriott and identifying yourself as a SoPas Class of ’57 attendee.  The Courtyard Marriott is a short distance from our Saturday night dinner venue at the Brookside Golf Club, next to the Rose Bowl in the beautiful Arroyo Seco.

Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2007:   Time to be determined – a guided tour of SoPas High – for some of us this may be our first trip back in fifty years.  You’ll be surprised how much things have changed and yet how much they remain the same.  For those who did not pick up name tags they will be available at the yet to be determined meeting place at the High School.

Saturday afternoon:  Free time to gather with friends, shop, gallery browse, picnic, bicycle near the Rose Bowl, or golf.  Golfers will need to contact me so I can attempt to schedule a tee time for you.  The golf lady has indicated that we may reserve tee times as early as 11AM.  Warning!! Play is slow at Brookside.  Allow 5 ½ to 6 hours for play.  Remember beverage hour starts at 6PM with dinner at 7PM.  My wife and I may play nine holes and head for the “barn”.

Saturday evening:  Following your elective afternoon activities we will gather at the Diningroom of the Brookside Golf Club at 6:00PM.  Don Rogers will organize a group photo upon our arrival.  Then dinner will be served about 7:00PM.  Yes, we plan on having a DJ, but dancing is not mandatory.  We are attempting to arrange a shuttle service from the Marriott Courtyard to dinner and return (still working on that one).  We’ll plan “lights out” at 10:00PM.

Sunday morning, Sept. 16:   Dianne Lindsey Walsh’s sister, Joanne Dickson, (Class of ’61) has graciously allowed us to have a Brunch at her home (1215 Garfield, South Pasadena one half block south of Monterey Road) from 10:00AM until Noon – early enough that those desiring to return home via auto or airplane will still have ample time.  The Brunch should give us a chance to relive the prior day’s escapades, make lots of promises to write and call one another, take more pictures, show pictures of grandchildren and pets, and generally reflect on how lucky we have all been to grow up in such a nurturing environment as South Pasadena in the 40s and 50s.

Please do not forget to send in your Bios and a recent photo ASAP.  They can be emailed to sphs57-reunion50@reunion-memories.org or mailed to Judy Moreland Money, 5072 Caballeros Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
